Our heart is heavy after the senseless killing of George Floyd. As a statewide community dispute resolution organization that grew out of the social justice and civil rights movement, we are committed to action grounded in the voices and wisdom of our diverse community. This tragedy and the erosion of trust in our community are rooted in a legacy of oppression and structural racism; therefore, Community Mediation Minnesota calls for a truth and reconciliation process in Minnesota.

Restorative Practices include a variety of interventions that can range from on-on one to medium-sized groups, facilitated by one or more trained facilitators. These interventions are often designed with participant input and typically focus on a broad range of deeply personal and consequential matters.
Mediation is a voluntary process used to settle disputes. Individuals involved meet with a trained neutral who listens to both perspectives of the issue. The mediator maintains order, a safe environment and makes sure all parties involved are heard.
The mediator does not decide who is right or wrong but helps all parties involved reach an agreement that is acceptable to all parties.
